Deli Supervisor

Job Summary: The Deli Supervisor is a working manager responsible for the day to day operations of the Deli

 Year Round, Full Time, will include a mix of day, evening and weekend shifts.

Essential Functions:

  • Prep food ingredients for each work day
  • Maintain the functionality of kitchen equipment
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and hazard-free work space to maximize efficiency
  • Adhere to food safety standards
  • Oversee the appearance of food displays and the quality of the food being served
  • Order and maintain an inventory of food items
  • Order and maintain an inventory of retail/grocery items

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and schedule a staff of 4-5 deli workers
  • Training of food safety and preparation
  • Adhere to Vermont DLC standards regarding alcohol

 

Customer Service Expectations: This position is a frontline position that works directly with our guests. All interactions must be helpful, friendly and professional.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years cooking experience
  • Ability to prepare food items correctly
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write clearly
  • Self motivated, organized, fast and even-tempered
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Requires extending arms, bending and stooping to reach materials
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

 

 Work Environment:  The position involves regular exposure to hot items, and the use of potentially hazardous sharp cutting utensils.  Most work is performed indoors, but some occasional outdoor work, such as snow shoveling, may be required.  Outdoor work is performed in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces. 

 

Pay and Benefits: Pay negotiable based on experience. Benefits include sick time, discounts at food outlets, and a ski pass for employee and their dependents. Healthcare available after 120 days of continuous employment.
