Event Coordinator

Job Summary:  The Event Coordinator manages and executes on-mountain events throughout the winter season, and assists the marketing director with other jobs as needed. This position starts in early December and runs through the end of the winter season in approximately early April. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Plan, market, and produce on mountain events including Corporate Race League, family activities week, terrain park events and more. (must be available nights and weekends)
  • Update boltonvalley.com and third-party websites with information on resort events
  • Update boltonvalley.com with other non-event information as assigned
  • Assist with on campus marketing of the resort
  • Review third-party websites weekly for accurate Bolton Valley posting information
  • Conduct guest surveys

NOTE:  All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends. 

Customer Service Expectations: 

The main face to face customer contact is at the resort’s special events. Additional customer contact is via email in updates to event participants, and on the web through the resort’s Facebook and Twitter pages.  Employee is expected to be courteous and professional in accordance with Bolton’s commitment to providing superior customer service. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of event planning or marketing.

Required Knowledge and Skills:   

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience managing staff at an event
  • Ability to organize an event from the idea stage through completion
  • Ability to ski and/or snowboard for on mountain event work
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with content management systems for websites
  • Familiarity with social media and other third party websites

Physical and Mental Demands:  Requires some heavy lifting when setting up and tearing down event venues both on the mountain and in the lodge.  Involves the physical demands inherent in skiing/snowboarding.

Work Environment:  Approximately 50% of work time is spent indoors working at a computer, and 50% is a combination of outdoor and indoor physical labor, including skiing and snowboarding in all weather conditions.
