Split and Surfest

Splitfest is back again to fill your day will demos, merchandise, food and some local beer from Lost Nation. You'll be exploring our terrain on splitboards and all mountain snowboards. There will be free demos available if you don’t have your own equipment or happen to be interested in trying something new. During the day there will be clinics, games, tours, food and beer!
Location: Slopeside of Timberline Lodge at Bolton Valley. Vendors, demos, food and beverages will be setup from 9am-2pm.
Activities: There is going to be regular Uphill 101 courses throughout the day, as well as a splitboard obstacle course, various backcountry tours, and a raffle.
Lunch & Refreshments: Starting at 11:30am Bolton Valley will be selling $2 Lost Nation beers inside of the Timberline Lodge. If you take part in the demos you will receive a voucher for a $6 burrito from South of Solitude. Lost Nation Brewing is providing the refreshments and proceeds will go to support the Vermont Backcountry Alliance and Catamount Trail Association.
Uphill 101: This brief instructional session given by the Catamount Trail Association will take you on a short tour around Bolton where you will get to see what it’s like to earn your turn. We will share some tips on setting up your board, skinning up-hill, and provide you with some pointers to help you get the most out of your next uphill adventure.
Obstacle Course: Burton Snowboards will be organizing a fun and challenging obstacle race which will open at 1pm. Everyone and anyone can come out and give it a shot and the fastest times will win bragging rights and maybe a little something special from our sponsors. There will be uphill and downhill components and we promise this will be the most fun you’ve had on your board all season.
Backcountry Tour Schedule: Coming Soon…
Demos: There will be demo set-ups throughout the day from Voile, Karakorum, Spark R&D, Burton, The Outdoor Gear Exchange and The Alpine Shop. These demos are free but you must purchase a Nordic ticket to participate. If you are interested in demoing please bring your own ski and snowboard boots or you can rent from Bolton Valley.
Raffle: At 2pm there will be a raffle of a selection of prizes donated by sponsors. The money raised by the raffle will go to support the activities of the Vermont Backcountry Alliance.
Fee: There is no fee to demo or be part of this event. If you are just participating in the demos you can purchase a mountain ticket at the slopeside of Timberline Lodge (cash only) that gives you access only to the uphill route for the splitfest. If you want an all mountain access lift ticket for the day you can purchase it inside Timberline lodge or at Guest Services.
