Silly Spring Slalom in lieu of Pond Skimming

Date: Mar 29 2014

We won't be able to hold Pond Skimming this year. We just don't have any water in our snowmaking ponds and the brook is frozen, so we can't refill them. Thus we will not be able to fill the pond for skimming. The forecast looks cold for the next week too, so we don't expect enough melting to re-fill the ponds. Instead, we'll host the Silly Spring Slalom.

The Silly Spring Slalom will be a downhill ski race with a few twists. Your time will count but it will not be the most important factor. We'll have a couple challenges for you to complete along the course and there may be a jump and berms too! Costumes are encouraged and the theme is Cartoons. We'll give away a season pass to the overall winner. The winner will be determined by our panel of judges who will factor in the persons time, costume, completion of the challenges and overall style on course. Judges will also single out a few of their favorites for additional prizes.

For those who don't care to compete, please line the course and cheer on the competitors while you laugh at their antics. We'll also have the grill going, a sandwich, soda and chips combo will be just $5 for pass holders and $7 for non-pass holders.

The Lowdown: The entry fee is just $5 per racer. You must have a lift ticket or season pass to enter.  All racers will go in bib order.
