  About Us

The Bolton Adventure Center can help you and group meet your Teambuilding Goals. We will send you a Needs Assessment where you can tell us what your goals are for your program. We will read through it and plan a program that will address your goals. The Teambuilding/Challenge Course Programs experiential by nature include group initiatives, Low and High Elements. Group initiatives are tasks that are given to a group that they would need to work together to accomplish.

The Low Elements are primarily used for team problem solving and teambuilding. The Low Elements are activities like Mohawk Walk, where your entire group needs to walk on a number of cables two feet above the ground, or Whale Watch where the group needs to balance on a giant see saw or Nitro Crossing where the whole group needs to get from point A to point B by swinging on a rope like Tarzan.

We offer several activities that are approximately 45 feet above the ground that require helmets and harnesses. Zip line, Giant Swing, Wild Woozy, Catwalk, and Boardwalk are all examples of high elements. Our Zip line, for example, is exactly that, you zip on a cable over Joiner Brook Ravine; the zip is approximately 400 feet long. Our Giant swing is much like a sling shot, you are pulled back and into the air then at your choice release a lanyard that allows you to swing out over our pond, very exciting and stomach dropping. The High Elements are operated at the highest safety standards and can be quite a unique experience in that they aid in confidence and trust building.

We understand that the State of Vermont has created a set of standards that teachers and schools must address in their curriculum. All of our programs incorporate some aspect of Vermont’s Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities. The following are examples of some standards that would apply to our Teambuilding/Challenge Course Programs.

Vermont’s Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities: Listening: Clarification and Restatement, 1.13; Expression: Speaking, 1.15; Questioning/Problem Solving: Types of Questions, 2.1; Problem Solving: Problem Solving Process, 2.2; Problem Solving: Types of Problems, 2.3; Problem Solving: Improving Effectiveness, 2.4; Approach: Application, 2.6; Approach: Information, 2.7; Approach: Taking Risks, 2.8; Approach: Preserving, 2.9; Abstract and Creative Thinking: Fluency, 2.10; Abstract and Creative Thinking: Elaboration, 2.11; Abstract and Creative Thinking: Flexibility, 2.12; Worth and Competence: Respect, 3.3; Making Decisions: Informed Decisions, 3.7; Relationships: Teamwork, 3.10; Relationships: Interactions, 3.11; Relationships: Roles and Responsibilities, 3.13; Service: Democratic Process, 4.2.
