Date: Dec 13 2013
Thanks to some cold days that helped the snowmakers get ahead of schedule Opening Day has been bumped up a day and we'll open for the season on Friday, December 13th.
We’re excited to be opening for the season with top-to-bottom skiing from the Vista Quad, with skiing on a 1 ½ mile run down Sherman’s Pass and Bear Run. The short Hard Luck Lane and Spillway Lane runs will give some variety on the upper mountain. The Mighty Mite area will be open for beginners too. Expect conditions to be groomed, machine-made snow, most likely a mix of packed powder and granular on a firm base.
We are looking to finish snowmaking on Alta Vista later this week and plan to open it by Saturday. Next, snowmaking will move to Beech Seal. We will not have any terrain park features this weekend but plan to add some in the near future. The first night of night skiing will be on Wednesday, December 18th.
