GREEN MOUNTAIN SKIMO SERIES (TUESDAY NIGHTS)

Join us on Tuesday nights at Bolton Valley for some friendly uphill competition. The Green Mountain Skimo Not-A-Race Series is here to get you off the couch and out on snow! This winter after work don’t let the darkness take you down. Embrace it and come kick some uphill butt! Getting after it once a week is great for your fitness, and will help you ski more once the weekend arrives. Who doesn’t want to be faster on the up, and stronger on the down!

Cost (paid directly to CTA online in advance only – no in person registration for 2023)

In addition to race registration, Bolton requires everyone who uses the mountain to have a valid ticket or pass to access ALL trails (whether riding a lift or not) at all times – including during the SkiMo race series. IF you do not have a qualifying Bolton Valley Season Pass (basically every season pass EXCEPT the Midweek Daytime Hours Pass) THEN you must purchase a ticket for the day of the Skimo event you attend. Cheapest options are:
– NBU Ticket (stands for Nordic Backcountry Uphill) $17 midweek
OR
– Night Lift Ticket for $25 in advance ($29 day of). This ticket includes lift and NBU Trail access from 4-10pm.

Schedule

• Late afternoon Tuesdays (before you pack your gear up): Please visit the Catamount Trail Facebook Page for last minute race updates or changes
• Before 6pm – Register Online in Advance AND Purchase NBU OR Night Lift Ticket (at least) IF you do not have qualifying Bolton Valley Season Pass
• 5:50pm – meet at Wilderness Lift shack (main base area)
• 6:00pm – Race Start
• 8:00pm – Awards & Raffle in James Moore Tavern (main base lodge upstairs)

Required Equipment

• AT/Telemark Skis or Splitboard (snowboard and approach skis also acceptable)
• Climbing Skins (no snowshoes, no crampons)
• Appropriate Clothing
• Headlamp – Check your batteries! You will be skiing downhill on an unlit trail!
• Helmet
• Goggles (recommended)
