Job Title: Rec Center Attendant

Position Status: Full/Part-Time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Date: Winter 2025-2026

Pay Range: $15-$18.00/hour

Job Summary:

The Rec Center Associate is responsible for assisting guests and managing access to the facilities amenities, including the pools, hot tub, sauna, tennis/pickleball courts, and golf simulator. This position also processes and fulfills light food and beverage/bartending sales, monitors and records pool chemical levels, as well as performs minor chemical adjustments to the pool as needed. They will have to assist in shoveling the entryways to the facility after snowfall. Lastly, this position assists with the setup of birthday parties and scheduled events such as Family Fun Night.

 Essential Skills: 

  • Arrive on time as scheduled for all shifts- must be dependable and willing to work. This position requires a flexible schedule that includes the ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays when needed.
  • Able to work both individually and as part of a team

Essential Functions:

  • Sell day tickets, season passes, pickleball/ tennis court rentals, and simulator rentals to guests in person, online, and over the phone.
  • Provide food (air fryer & hot dogs) and bartending services for guests and process the associated sales in accordance with resort policies.
  • Process credit card payments; print/fill out tickets; complete related records/forms. Cash out at the end of each day.
  • Monitor pool chemical levels, record results, and add chemicals as needed to maintain balance.
  • Complete sales and reservations for birthday parties and events. Assist with the set-up for those events such as Family Fun Nights.
  • Perform basic data entry and recordkeeping tasks.
  • Stock towels, bathroom amenities, and other necessary supplies for guests throughout the day.
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by assisting guests, answering questions, and representing the resort in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations such as shoveling.

Other Functions:

  • Assist in general cleanup and maintenance of reception and work areas, including shoveling/sanding/salting of entryway and moving ski/board racks
  • Contribute to the development of Ralph’s Rec Center

NOTE:  All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.

Customer Service Expectations: Employee is expected to be courteous and professional in accordance with Bolton’s commitment to providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to handle cash and process credit card transactions accurately
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and ecommerce sales
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs and perform light cleaning/stocking duties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Nice to Haves:

  • Vermont DLL (course is offered through Bolton Valley if not)
  • Previous experience testing and rebalancing pools. (Training provided by BV if not)

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Helpful, outgoing and friendly personality
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic math skills with USD
  • Patience
  • General interest in the ski industry and in helping others
  • Ability to follow instructions

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing
  • Stress from dealing with fast-paced environment, occasionally difficult and/or upset customers, and quickly jumping from one situation to the next
  • Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. (boxes of trail maps or brochures, ski racks, etc.)

Work Environment: Work is performed almost exclusively indoors, except for some shoveling/sanding/salting of exterior stairs and entryways.  The pace is fast, involving lots of information and questions in rapid succession.
