Job Summary:  The Season-Long Program Coordinator oversees the ongoing season-long weekend children’s ski and ride program at the resort. 

 

Essential Functions:   

 

  • Greets participants and parents at the beginning of the day, and connects with parents again at the end of the day 
  • Works with the Director of Skiing and Riding to develop program structure 
  • Assigns approximately 100 children in the Saturday program, and 65 children in the Sunday program, to an appropriate season-long group and instructor, with assistance from the Director of Skiing and Riding 
  • Oversees the performance of program instructors, evaluating each instructor at the end of the season 
  • Monitors student progress and placement throughout the season 
  • Writes and distributes a newsletter twice a month  
  • Coordinates meals with kitchen staff 
  • Troubleshoots any day-to-day issues that arise with students, instructor and parents 
  • Fills in as instructor as needed 

 

  

NOTE:  All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.   

 

Customer Service Expectations:  With consistent parent and student contact, must be helpful, friendly, courteous and professional in accordance with Bolton’s commitment to providing superior customer service.         

 

Qualifications:   

  • 2-3 years experience as a ski/ride instructor 
  • Previous supervisory experience 
  • Required to pass a background check necessary to work with children 

 

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:   

 

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to relate to, and effectively deal with, children 
  • Genuine fondness of children 
  • Ability to understand and deal with the needs of parents 
  • Ability to work well with staff, other departments, and the public 

 

Physical and Mental Demands:   

Requires bending, twisting and lifting (up to approximately 50 lbs.) to assist children in getting dressed for skiing and riding, and consistently being on your feet.  Climbing stairs is required to obtain food and other supplies.  Stress can result from the fast paced activity inherent in an environment filled with young children.    

 

 

Work Environment:  Work is performed indoors in Kids’ Roomas well as outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces.
