Job Title: Sports Center Facility Manager

Job Summary: Responsible for overall supervision and staffing of Ralph’s Rec Den including New Summer operations, Aquatic features, Tennis & Field House operations, and Staffing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plans, implements, and manages all aspects of the Ralph’s Rec Den facility including, summer programming (In coordination with Programs Manager and Marketing), Pool Facility (In coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor), and Tennis & Field House at Bolton Valley.
- Reviews and enhances facility offerings and other potential sources of revenue at the Rec Center; Including new multi-use courts (In coordination with the Sales and Marketing department).
- Coordinates with marketing and sales and programs to support plans and goals for all Rec Center activities and to take advantage of cross marketing or package offerings within the resort. Work with marketing to enhance Sport Center components of resort web site.
- Responsible for Rec Center cleanliness. Rec Center staff will be responsible for vacuuming carpets and pool, cleaning bath and locker areas, wiping down exercise equipment, changing light bulbs and washing windows.
- Manages expenses and payroll to meet or better the projected budget.
- Develops and implements new indoor programs and ideas for the summer with management to build and take full advantage of the large open area within Sports Center to increase business in the future seasons.
- Works with Maintenance department to ensure building and facility is in good operations.
ADDITIONAL WINTER FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises a staff of approximately 6-12 people
- Hires, trains and motivates staff to perform all required services and offerings with a high level of customer service
- Aggressively seeks to grow year-round programming, activities and revenues, through programs
- Adheres to all health and liquor laws as required
NOTE: All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.
Customer Service Expectations: Must be helpful, friendly, courteous and professional in accordance with Bolton’s commitment to providing superior customer service, and be passionate about Sports Center offerings.
Qualifications:
- College degree preferred
- A passion for outdoor recreation
- 1-2 years of prior supervisory experience in a heavily customer-oriented environment
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
Physical and Mental Demands: Must be able to move, stand, lift and shovel for long periods of time.
Work Environment: Work is performed both outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces, as well as indoors. Indoor time is spent managing the staff and operations and interacting with guests in person. Some indoor time is also spent on the computer and phone, as well as, cleaning and maintaining the facilities.
