Bolton Valley Opens For Summer Operations This Weekend

Dining, Disc Golf, Mountain Biking, and Events Planned for the Summer

BOLTON VALLEY, VT (5/25/2018) –

Just a few weeks ago skiers and riders were still enjoying the snow at Bolton Valley. But the seasons have changed and Bolton Valley is welcoming guests for the summer with the opening of three restaurants including the Village Café, the BV Deli, and Fireside Flatbread. As the summer heats up, the resort will be offering many recurring events and programs ranging from a Thursday night Vermont Food and Beer Pairing Pop-Up Series, to weekly disc golf leagues, bike rides, guided hikes, yoga and more.

“We purchased the mountain last April with a vision of re-establishing the resort as a year round center for outdoor recreation.” said President Ralph DesLauriers. “This summer we are excited to be offering unique dining options and a wide range of outdoor activities all right here in our mountain village.”

The Vista Beast Disc Golf Course is scheduled to open on July 4 and will expand from nine holes to a full 18 hole course this year. The Sports Center opens for the season on June 19 and is the perfect spot for keeping the kids entertained this summer. There is a good mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including an indoor heated pool, so families are sure to have fun, no matter the weather.  And look out for mountain bike trail building all summer long – with the goal of opening the first two trails by July 4.

Thursday through Sunday on the mountain will be action packed.

The Vermont Beer Pairing Pop-Up Series will kick off on June 21 and pairs a different local Vermont brew with a dinner prepared using products from local farms each week.  The Resort is encouraging locals to come up before dinner on Thursday nights and jump into one of several activities.  Activities include: yoga,  a Disc Golf League, a weekly gravel grinding Suffer Fest group bike ride that climbs nearly 2000 vertical feet on off-road terrain, and – alternating bi-weekly – a group single-track mountain bike ride and volunteer series to kick off Bolton’s re-entry into the mountain bike scene.
On weekends, The Village Café will be serving Brunch on the decks and the Resort will host a Sunday morning disc golf tournament and guided hikes with more activities yet to be announced.

Special events this summer kick off on June 24 with the VT Rocks music festival and BBQ. The day will include music from noon until dark with eight bands on two stages. A BBQ will be provided by Rock House BBQ and Stone Corral will serve up locally produced beer. Ultra runners will not want to miss the Enough is Enough Recovery Run on July 7. This fixed time running event features 3, 6 and 12 hour options. The Vista Beast Disc Golf Challenge is a two round disc golf tournament being held on September 1.

Bolton Valley offers 71 trails for alpine skiing and riding, over 1200 acres of high elevation backcountry terrain, 15km of groomed Nordic trails, a complete Sports Center plus Vermont’s most extensive top-to-bottom night skiing and riding. In the summer the resort offers dining, the Sports Center, the 18 hole Vista Beast Disc Golf course and many special events.
