Backcountry Trip Report 2/7/2022

This post is a guest contribution from one of our Bolton Valley Backcountry Guides, Kevin Teets. Kevin is a Bolton backcountry guide and Nordic Center employee who has been splitboarding for the last 4 years.  He enjoys long days outside and completed a thru hike of the Long Trail this past September.

I did a private tour today, fresh tracks are still plentiful in the backcountry a few days after the big storm. In the lower gladed areas, there are just enough tracks to help generate speed and lots of opportunities to dip off into the deep powder.  A couple exposed areas have been wind affected making for a some less predictable snow.  In most places the coverage is quite good.

Happy touring & exploring!
