Excitement’s in the Air

As we round out our opening week, spirits are high in the Valley. From front-desk to food prep, the first week of running lifts is an all-hands operation. The snow-making team is cranking out the volume for our grooming team to sculpt, the ski-school team is jumping right into our after-school program, and the marketing team is running around bothering everyone else to document their progress! We caught up with a couple of friendly faces from our fantastic family of fun-loving folks to see what they’re most excited for this season.

Saturday came out swinging with an idyllic first-day combination of a bluebird morning and a flurry-filled eve, setting the tone for an exciting return to the hill. We spun Mighty Mite and Mid-Mountain to Beech Seal, and officially opened up our designated uphill route for the pass-holding public. The lift-lines were comfortably filled with old friends of the mountain and enthusiastic first-timers eager to carve. After our first-ever summer running mountain bike lifts, everyone is excited to be back on snow.

The positive energy among the crew has been palpable, with everyone jumping to lend one another a hand as we continue to roll out preparations for more trails to open. The new food options like Miso Toh Kome, the new base lodge cafe, and our new head chef Pete in the James Moore Tavern were also hot topics among the staff as the food selection here on the mountain continues to expand. Whether it’s about the terrain, the food, or the return of friends, the general consensus is the same; it’s going to be an awesome winter.
