We recognize that we rushed the process around decommissioning the skatepark. We did not meet our commitment to our community members and for this, we are sorry. After hearing from you, we have paused the decommissioning of the park and will not be closing it on Oct 1 as we had planned. To give skaters as much access as possible, we will extend the park’s hours to six days a week (Wednesday-Monday) over the next couple of weeks.

We are now taking the time to have the conversation we should have held weeks ago. As we said last week, this does not mean we are scrapping our plans. The decision to close the park was not made lightly and was made for sound business reasons, that still exist. But we value your perspective and your ideas and want to work together to do what we can to support the skate community and to build a thoughtful transition plan.

To that end, we would like to invite you to have a conversation with me and our GM, Nathaniel next Tuesday, October 3 from 6 to 7:30PM at the Sports Center. Our hope is this will be a productive and solutions focused meeting. Please come both with your ideas and an open mind to hear our perspective. We’re confident that if we come to the table together, we can build an even stronger, more vibrant Bolton Valley.
