 Job Summary:  The Overnight Security position is responsible for the overnight operations of the hotel. This is a customer-facing role that requires a friendly demeanor, guest interaction, a high level of self-direction and judgement. Currently the shifts available are Friday and Saturday evenings, from 10pm-7:30am. There is potential for additional shifts during the busy season and holiday periods.  

 Essential Functions:   

  • Arrive on time as scheduled and adhere to appropriate dress code as stated in employee manual. 
  • Patrol the resort, both interior and exterior, following designated schedule 
  • Checking to make sure all doors are properly locked and secured 
  • Filling in the nightly security log and report 
  • Assist with guest or resident lock-outs of rooms by verifying ID and reservation info 
  • Light cleaning of hotel lobby and hallways as needed, removing trash, and shoveling hotel entryway in the winter 
  • Responding to calls for small maintenance issues or guest requests 
  • Answer after-hours phone calls and take messages to relay to the front desk in the morning 
  • Deliver ironing boards, baby cribs, and rollaway beds to guest rooms.  
  • Drive a BV vehicle to shuttle guests to other areas of the resort on occasion 
  • Other duties as assigned by Lodging Director  

 Requirements: 

  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement 
  • Ability to use basic computer functions such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel 

 NOTE:  All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.   

 Customer Service Expectations:  Employee is expected to be courteous and professional in accordance with Bolton’s commitment to providing superior customer service.       

 Qualifications:  Entry level 

 Required Knowledge and Skills:  Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers, and to read written instructions.  Good understanding of guest expectations. 

   Physical and Mental Demands:  Position involves lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. The majority of work time is spent standing, walking, climbing stairs, and sitting.  Some stress may result from dealing with difficult guests.      

 Work Environment:  Most work is performed inside, but some outside shoveling of hotel entryway is required.  Riding in and/or driving a Bolton vehicle may be required for occasional guest shuttling.
