Bolton Valley today announced the purchase of two new electric air compressors for their snowmaking system. The new high-efficiency compressors will reduce the amount of diesel fuel the resort uses by an average of 25,000 gallons per year and extend the snowmaking season. This project was partially funded by passionate Bolton Valley skiers and riders.

The fundraising for this project began in March of this year when a limited number of Five Year Green Passes went on sale. Green Pass holders locked in five seasons of skiing and riding at Bolton Valley for just $2000. Proceeds from the sale went toward the two new high-efficiency electric compressors.

“Bolton Valley is a family owned and operated business. I am always thankful that our guests show as much enthusiasm for the mountain as my own family does.” said Ralph DesLauriers, Owner of Bolton Valley. “We are thrilled that a good number of our loyal guests chose to help us achieve our sustainability goals by purchasing the Five Year Green Pass.”

The project will be completed in time for the snowmaking season to begin in November as the resort marches toward a planned Opening Day of Dec. 8, 2018. Five Year Green Passes are still on sale for $2200 through September 24, funds from additional sales will reduce the amount of financing needed for the project.

Bolton Valley offers 71 trails for alpine skiing and riding, over 1200 acres of high elevation backcountry terrain, 15km of groomed Nordic trails, a complete Sports Center plus Vermont’s most extensive top-to-bottom night skiing and riding. All-inclusive, true ski-to-your-door lodging packages are from $85/person/night. For more information visit www.boltonvalley.com or call 802-434-3444.
