Backcountry Trip Report 3/12/22

This post is a guest contribution from one of our Bolton Valley Backcountry Guides, Chris Duff. Chris has been exploring steep and deep lines all over north central Vermont for about 20 years and about 10 years at Bolton – first with EMS and Catamount Trails and now Bolton Valley Backcountry. He likes to telemark down whatever comes his way and loves to share the backcountry stoke with whoever wants to join him!

Fresh lines everywhere we went Saturday.  The snow just kept coming and we found beautiful unskied lines on each line.  Day started with minimal coverage, and by the time we peeled our skins there was 4-8” of mildly dense powder and no-one else to be seen.  Every line we skied was trackless and full on. John and Joseph plowed powder all day lapping Holdens and Big Blue.  No need to go deep, there was plenty of fresh nearby.  One of the nicest days this season!
