Backcountry Trip Report 3/5/2022

This post is a guest contribution from one of our Bolton Valley Backcountry Guides, Chris Duff. Chris has been exploring steep and deep lines all over north central Vermont for about 20 years and about 10 years at Bolton – first with EMS and Catamount Trails and now Bolton Valley Backcountry.  He likes to telemark down whatever comes his way and loves to share the backcountry stoke with whoever wants to join him!

Dropped into the Stowe chutes then back up Bolton-Trapps to Cotton Brook and out Paradise to Turnpike.  Near perfect conditions!  Sunny, warmer and fluffy!  We found some freshies all over and looking up Paradise there were lots of un-skied lines. Conditions were  8-12” of floaty powder, maybe 90% on.  Some hazards still visible and just under the snow, but generally it was ski where you want.   Pretty quiet for a Saturday with such nice pow, not a lot of traffic.  Had a great day with Lorenzo and Blaire, they rocked it!
