Hi there! I’m Andrew from Marketing, and I’m about to enter my 6th winter as a Bolton Valley employee. Here’s why I think that this winter may be the best winter yet to join us on the hill!
It’s not secret that it’s a strange time to be looking for work. Many of us have lost our jobs and even more of us have seen significant changes in our workplace environments. Regardless of the reason, there are a lot of people currently on the hunt for a job. Here’s why I think working at Bolton Valley might a great choice for the upcoming winter season.
The first and most obvious reason is that if you choose to work at Bolton Valley for the winter, you will receive a free season pass. That’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me! Your number of days skiing/riding will also most likely see a healthy increase (I have a couple 100+ day seasons that I solely attribute to being employed at BV) Don’t get me wrong, working at Bolton Valley doesn’t mean that you’ll be shredding the pow all day every day. But… It does mean that you’ll be up at the mountain A LOT. Most of the time, it’s the employees who score on those sleeper pow days. Just saying!
Another compelling reason is that you have the opportunity to spend most of your time OUTSIDE. While Bolton Valley is certainly taking all the necessary steps to ensure inside spaces are as safe as they can be for guests and employees, we know that there are many who feel uncomfortable with the thought of being inside at all. There are many positions (ski instructor, lift ops, ski patrol etc) where you spend the majority of your time on the clock outside. Positions like this may be perfect for people who do not wish to be inside whatsoever!
Finally, If you choose to work at Bolton Valley, you’ll find that the atmosphere is unbeatable. We are a small, family owned and operated resort and our management style reflects that. You’ll work alongside your supervisors and managers, and you’ll be able to talk to them directly when you have something on your mind. You might even find yourself alongside our President, Lindsay DesLauriers, frantically shoveling to get the lifts un-burried on a Saturday morning pow day. Or, you might catch our founder, Ralph DesLauriers, in the tavern after a shift eagerly sharing stories of Bolton Valley’s past. Those are the type of memories that last a lifetime.
It’s going to be a weird winter. Regardless of where you’re coming from, why not give something new and exciting a try? We’d love to work with you! If you think you might be interested, you can apply HERE. Also, we’re having virtual job fairs every Wednesday in November. Book a spot HERE and fast track your Bolton Valley hiring experience.
