Job Summary:  The HR Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to Bolton’s executive team, Human Resource and Finance departments. In addition to general administrative work the job will include Quickbook data entry, time spent in the cash room, and occasional off mountain trips.  S/He will be the main contact for general email, telephone and mail correspondence.  The position runs from November through early April for an average of 35-40 hours per week.

Essential Functions: 

  1. Positively represent the resort by being friendly and helpful.
  2. Respond to guest’s questions, concerns, comments and complaints in person, by telephone, via email or by regular mail; resolve if possible; refer to supervisor or other staff member/department as indicated.
  3. Copy, assemble and file employee paperwork HR office.
  4. Make nametags for new employees.
  5. Arrange International employee event and bus scheduling.
  6. Weekly day trips with the international employees.
  7. Assist all members of the executive team with projects as needed.
  8. Daily cash room duties.
  9. Assist marketing with donations and survey results.
  10. Quickbook data entry, accounts payable prep and filing in the Finance office.
  11. Straighten supply closet, take supply inventory every Monday, and place orders for supplies which are running low.

Other Functions: 

  1. Assist in general cleanup and maintenance of reception and work areas, including shoveling/sanding/salting of entryway and moving ski/board racks.
  2. General computer data entry and misc. projects as they come up.

NOTE:  All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.

Customer Service Expectations:  Employee is expected to be courteous and professional in accordance with Bolton’s commitment to providing superior guest service.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s  license
  • 2 years of previous administrative and/or bookkeeping experience in a customer service environment

  • General interest in the ski industry and in helping others

  • Quickbooks knowledge a plus

Physical and Mental Demands: 

  • Alternating prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
  • Stress from dealing with fast-paced environment, occasionally difficult and/or upset customers, and quickly jumping from one situation to the next
  • Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. (boxes of trail maps or brochures, ski racks, etc.).

Work Environment:  Work is performed almost exclusively indoors, except for some shoveling/sanding/salting of exterior stairs and entryways.  The pace is fast, involving lots of information and questions in rapid succession.
